Geri says goodbye to her ginger days with a new haircut

Her red hair was a huge part of her life - so much so that she chose to define herself as Ginger Spice.

But Geri Halliwell has moved on from her popstar days and today she unveiled a whole new look - as a brunette.

The star was almost unrecognisable with her newly dark hair loose and wavy as she left Heart FM in London, where she had been talking about her new book Ugenia Lavender.

She dressed in a monotone outfit of black boots, leggings and jacket.

The 36-year-old, mother to two-year-old Bluebell, has put her Spice Girl days behind her as she forges a new career as a children's author.

Perhaps her new look is part of a campaign to be taken seriously as a writer.
