Dannii Minogue shows off her curves in tight

Her appearances on the X Factor have become a weekly fashion show, with Dannii Minogue's every outfit analysed by her fans.

But when she's off-duty it seems the 38-year-old has a much more casual approach to fashion.

Back home in Australia for an extended Christmas break, Dannii wore a white vest and baseball cap.

Gone were the high-maintenance hair dos and thick make-up, replaced by a relaxed style.

The star is showing toyboy boyfriend Kris Smith, 31, the sights.

The pair enjoyed lunch with her parents at the house of a family friend, before heading out for dinner at a local pub.

Before her break Dannii told Heat magazine: 'This year has been full of happiness in so many ways.

'First of all my lovely man, Kris. He's been my rock and has given my life so much joy. Family is all well, and work is fun again.'

But it is not yet known if Dannii will reprise her role as a judge on the X Factor.

The former singer is still to be formally approached by Simon Cowell over her contract.

Dannii admitted her upset at being constantly moved to the end of the judging panel on the live shows and swapping seats with Louis Walsh.

She told Heat magazine: ‘I still have no idea why I was told to change seats. I was told four different reasons by four different people, who all said it was the other person's decision.’

She added: ‘I like watching people play "pass the buck". I actually thought I might be judging from the side of the stage at one point.’

Cheryl losing her X Factor with fans... as Dannii is voted most popular judge

Cheryl Cole has earned herself a name as a bit of a soft touch after frequently breaking down in tears on the X Factor panel.

But it seems the Girls Aloud star's emotional outbursts are not earning her any fans.

The 25-year-old judge was voted less popular than co-star Dannii Minogue in two separate polls.

Australian judge Dannii came out top of the judges, scoping 62 per cent of the vote in a New Magazine poll and 42 per cent on yahoo.com.

Cheryl lagged behind with just 25 per cent of the New Magazine vote and 32 per cent on yahoo.com.

Cheryl's waning popularity may be due to her frequent crying, which has been triggered by the various sob stories from contestants.

In last week's show she broke down during 18-year-old Amy Connelly's performance after hearing the teen had lost her mother when she was seven-years-old.

The week before viewers saw her lose her composure as she heard the story of Daniel Evans whose wife died just days after giving birth to their daughter.

One fan said: 'The writing could be on the wall - she'll have to change her act to win fans over.

'Viewers say she's too ready to burst into tears when she hears the sob stories from wannabes. That's got very tiring very quickly.'

Dannii's spokesman told the Sun newspaper: 'She is really thrilled.'

The 36-year-old will be teaming up with former Spice Girl Emma Bunton to mentor her acts.

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue vows to feed up 'tiny' panellist Cheryl Cole

Sparks often fly between judges on The X Factor.

But it seems like a cat fight is off the agenda for the latest series.

Australian panellist Dannii Minogue has vowed not only will she get on with her new colleague Cheryl Cole - she'll also feed up the petite star.

The 36-year-old is happy the Girls Aloud star has replaced former judge Sharon Osbourne, 55, with whom she had a series of clashes.

Dannii says she feels sorry for new judge 25-year-old Cheryl after marital problems with husband Ashley Cole who was reported to have cheated on her.

She told The Sun newspaper: 'I wouldn't wish what Cheryl's been through on anybody. It must just be awful. It's physically obvious, it's been a tough time for her. I'll try to feed her up.

'I try and feed everyone up, so there's obviously an Italian mother stuck inside me.'

She continued: 'Cheryl's tiny. Mind you, Ashley came to auditions on her birthday and he's not tall. They're in proportion.'

This year's series of the hit ITV show looks set to see less confrontation after the departure of feisty judge Sharon.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Cheryl said Simon was the judge she agreed with most.

She said: 'As much as it pains me to admit it, and using Simon's own words: "He is always right.' '

However she said she wasn't afraid to argue with the outspoken X Factor judge if she thought he was wrong.

The Girls aloud star said: 'I have to say I do agree with him on a lot of things, but definitely not everything.

Sizzling sex kitten Kylie Minogue stole the X Factor style crown last night - and left her sister Dannii firmly in the fashion stakes shade.

Renown for her jaw-dropping outfits, the pop princess excelled herself as she stalked on to stage in a figure-hugging black lace catsuit, black leotard and strappy sky-scraper heels.

She had appeared on the show to duet with finalist - and eventual winner - Leon Jackson, 18.

X Factor judge Dannii, who has been coaching Leon, has never been known for her reticent style but she looked positively demure beside her stunning sister.

After their duet, Kylie told Leon: "I love your voice, not to mention that you're cute and adorable and everyone loves you – I have fallen under your spell today."

Dannii added, "You walked into the first audition on your own – now you're like the Pied Piper, you have everybody following you, congratulations."

A double helping of Minogue magic was clearly just what the fresh-faced boy-next-door needed as he went on to win the £1 million recording contract beating hot favourite Rhydian Roberts.

The peroxide-haired Welshman also got the chance to sing with a major star as Katherine Jenkins joined him on stage for a high-powered duet.

Why is Simon Cowell holding hands with X Factor Dannii?

Simon Cowell promised to make Dannii Minogue an international star - and he seems to be leading her there by the hand.

The X Factor supremo hand-picked the Australian to sit on the judging panel earlier in the year.

Now he has been snapped holding hands with the 36-year-old as they left BBC TV Centre after Children In Need.

After Dannii took the hot seat on the X Factor panel she told YOU magazine that should couldn't wait to get up close to the show's Mr Nasty.

The pair met at an awards event - and Simon uttered the irresistible line: "I'm going to make you an international TV star."
