Scruffy Britney Spears fitting bra

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend - but they certainly haven't done Britney Spears any favours.

The pop star has been reprimanded by a judge after she missed a court date to go jewellery shopping for a sparkly pendant.

But judging from her outfit, a lingerie store should have been her first stop to get herself properly fitted for some underwear.

Badly-fitted: Britney is all smiles as she leaves a jewellery shop near her Californian home on Friday, even though she was supposed to be in court attending a conservatorship hearing.

Britney, 28, was spotted at a luxury shopping centre last Friday near her home in Calabasas, California, bursting out of a bra which was clearly too small for her,

She should have been in court for a conservatorship (guardianship) hearing but instead, she treated herself to some pampering at a nail salon, where she brushed up on some dieting courtesy of a glossy magazine.

She then headed to designer jewellers Polacheck’s, where she bought herself a diamond pendant and was all smiles as she left the back door of the mall.

But she is in trouble with Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz who is angry that the singer was a no-show at the lunchtime hearing, and has ordered Britney to be in court this Friday.

According to Britney's people, however, they were under the impression the hearing had been postponed, after they asked Goetz to reschedule, fearing Britney would be besieged by the paparazzi.

But Goetz said that wasn't the case and Britney must now show up for court on January 22.

She said: 'The court was supposed to meet with Ms. Spears and there was a misunderstanding. I'm going to continue the matter until next Friday at 1:30 and she will be here.'

The hearing is to discuss the status of Britney's conservatorship and to see if it could be lifted, after her father Jamie Spears took control of her personal, financial and medical affairs in January 2008 after her very public breakdown.

This was extended in December and although the judge didn't specify how long the conservatorship will remain in place, but lawyers involved expect it to last somewhere between six months and a year.

Considering she was shopping in the oh so classy Beverly Hills, it was so not a good look.

Britney Spears was spotted on a shopping trip in Los Angeles yesterday with what appeared to be two coffee stains on her grey top.

Bald patches could also be seen on the 28-year-old's head, no doubt damage caused by having hair extensions over the years.

She wore her lank brown locks in a scruffy bun, and hid behind a pair of large sunglasses.

Unabashed, Spears strolled around the Los Angeles district with her bodyguards as she indulged in what seems to have become one of her favourite pastimes.

Britney's unusual top appeared to be half cotton and half black lace, and she matched it with a pair of black jeans, sand-coloured boots and a huge black shoulder bag with gold tassels.

The singer returned to the U.S. last month after her Circus world tour came to an end, with the final leg taking place in Australia.

She dyed her hair from blonde to brunette just this week, leading to rumours she is attempting to procure a more mature look for boyfriend Jason Trawick.

According to reports the couple are now so serious that Trawick, 38, is making plans to propose to the singer.

Britney Spears plays a perfect 1950s housewife in video for 'indecent' new song

This is Britney Spears appearing as a pie-baking 1950s housewife with a perfect family in her controversial new video, If You Seek Amy.

The star, who was pictured filming in Los Angeles earlier this week, is clad in a blonde bouffant wig, pink blouse and short white skirt in the feature, the third song to be taken from her latest album Circus.

She is seen with a handsome, preppy man and two well-dressed children in a home with a white picket fence.

On Wednesday, the singer wrote on her Twitter blog: 'Yesterday's If You Seek Amy shoot was super sexy and really fun! I can't wait for you all to see it.'

But the track has already provoked outrage because when Spears sings the title of the song out loud it is akin to spelling out the F-word in letters.

An American pro-censorship group, the Parents Television Council, has already called for the song to be banned from the airwaves.

President Tim Winter says playing the song between 6am and 10 pm would 'violate the broadcast indecency law'.

He said: 'There is no misinterpreting the lyrics, and it's certainly not about a girl named Amy.'

With some radio stations in the U.S. threatening to ditch the song, the singer announced last month that the title would be changed to 'If You See Amy' and amended the offensive sections of the track.

There were two parts of the song caused outrage. One was: 'All the boys and girls are begging to If You Seek Amy.'

The other was its chorus: 'Oh baby, baby, if you seek Amy tonight/Oh baby, baby, we'll do whatever you like.'

Her decision to make the alterations means the lyrics no longer make sense but the new version is set to be released in the UK in May.

The track was also attacked in Australia. A Sydney housewife, Leonie Barsenbach, described her outrage saying: 'I was astonished when I heard my five and seven-year-old kids singing "f**k me".'

'I was horrified. I got them the Circus album but there was no warning on it... It is extremely offensive. I feel deceived.'

The video is said to start with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie she's baked.

One girl in the video, who appears to be playing her child, is dressed in a grey school uniform which echoes the singer's provocative schoolgirl uniform from the video of her 1999 debut hit song Baby One More Time.

She also appears to have borrowed a little style from an old Pepsi Commercial where she appears dressed in series of outfits, including a '50s ensemble.

Months of intensive dance rehearsals and a new diet regime have finally paid off for pop star Britney Spears.

But the singer clearly hasn't given up all her bad habits as she was seen slurping on two iced coffees at the same time.

Britney, who struggled to regain her form following the birth of her two children and well-documented health problems, paraded her new body in a pair of denim hotpants yesterday as she visited her local Starbucks in Hollywood.

It was a rare public appearance for the 26-year-old, who has spent recent weeks holed up in an LA dance studio preparing for her highly anticipated comeback tour.

Her toned and taut physique is the result of careful calorie counting and vigorous work-outs which she admits have been a struggle.

But clearly even Britney realises, it can't all be famine and no feast.

She told the January issue of Glamour magazine: 'I have had to work hard at getting [my body] back to where it used to be.

Britney is gearing up to kick of her 44-date Circus tour, which begins in New Orleans on March 3 and ends in London on June 14.

She took to her blog this week to dispel reports the tour was in jeopardy because she couldn't travel with her two boys.

'Both Sean Preston and Jayden James will, in fact, be joining Britney throughout the duration of her tour,' read a message on BritneySpears.com.

The singer's former husband Kevin Federline currently has sole custody of her two sons.

However, Britney has visiting rights and is said to be spending more time with the children.

Her ex, former backing dancer Kevin Federline, 30, has primary custody of the boys, ages 3 and 2, but Spears has almost 50-50 access to them in visitation rights.

'Britney is so excited to kick off her tour,' her blog says.

'She has been enjoying every moment of rehearsals and is looking forward to performing in front of a live audience again.'

Britney, 27, revealed on Twitter - a social messaging site - that she spent the weekend lounging by the pool checking out sketches of costumes.

The singer also revealed more details about the tour, including a description of the elaborate stage pattern of a three-ring circus with multiple acts taking place at the same time.

Britney is set to begin her world tour in March, starting in her homestate of New Orleans.
