Uma Thurman looked a whiter shade of pale when she stepped out without her makeup on.

The usually bronzed star revealed her ghostly complexion as she left her New York apartment bare-faced yesterday.

Wearing holey jeans with a mismatched suit jacket and knitted boots, it looked as if the 38-year-old actress had thrown together her outfit in a hurry.

The Kill Bill star looked thin and drawn, dispelling rumours that she is pregnant.

There was speculation she was expecting a baby with multi-millionaire fiancé Arpad 'Arki' Busson when she revealed her bulging stomach in a bikini in July.

The rumours abounded when the New York Daily News reported she had ordered several maternity dresses from an online store in September.

Uma is set to star in the film version of the 1950's children's books Eloise In Paris, which will be released next year.

Earlier this year she starred opposite Colin Firth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in romantic comedy The Accidental Husband.

She also played Elsa in the British telefilm My Zinc Bed, in which she plays a cocaine addict.
