Dev's mom spills beans: Freida & Dev are dating

Oscar winning "Slumdog Millionaire" star Dev Patel's mother spoke of her son's off-screen love with his co-star, Freida Pinto, and said "life can't get better" for her son.

Dev and Freida have always denied their movie romance spilled over into real life. But their pictures enjoying an intimate lunch date in Israel last week raised eyebrows, reports The Mirror.

"First it was the film and now everything else seems to have slotted into place. Life can't get any better for him.

Freida is really beautiful and I am really happy for them. Yes, we knew he was flying to Israel to see her, " Dev's mother Anita Patel said.

The couple are said to have started the relationship on the sets of Danny Boyle's film.

Nandana Sen turned down two Hollywood Projects

Nandana Sen was in news as she just turned down two Hollywood Projects. Clearing the air sources close to Nandana say, “She rejected those movies as they had few nude sequences to be shot and she wasn’t comfortable shooting for those sequences.”

Nandana is back into action when she turned down another film. She was offered the protagonist’s role in an Italian film based on a story by Mahasweta Devi, ‘choli ke peeche, ’ directed by italo spinelli, produced by RAI, and shot by blasco giurardo, the cinematographer of Cinema Paradiso.

Nandana rejected to do this movie as it again contained Nudtiy scenes. Although it’s a powerful story and the script is brilliant but Nandana had no other option than rejecting this International flick.

Nandana decided not to play this part because I feel the subject matter is such that the nudity cannot avoid becoming unintentionally voyeuristic and eroticized even though that is definitely not the objective.

Amrita tired of being the sweet girl now I am going hot

Shocking as it may sound, Amrita Rao who has been in two of the most successful films of the decade –Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na and Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivah and whose success rate and iconic status is certainly higher than most of her contemporaries, was not asked to part of Karan Johar-Tarun Mansukhani’s Vote Aapke Haath Mein Hai campaign.

When asked about this surprising omission Amrita laughs away the query. “You’ll have to ask them why I wasn’t part of it.”

Amrita, it would seem, has antagonized the Johar-Chopra’s by refusing to do Bachna Ae Haseenon. She a was offered the role that Minissha Lamba finally did.

Says Amrita, “I won’t say I’m tired of playing the sweet girl nextdoor who looks at life each day with wide-eyed wonder. But I do crave for a change of image. In my next release Short Cut I play a very glamorous girl.

For the first time I’m being dressed up by Manish Malhotra. That does say something about the characters I’ve played so far. So yes I declined Bachna Ae Haeseenon. I couldn’t relate to the character.”

No one says no to a Yash Chopra presentation. Amrita’s behaviour was secretly described as “high-handed” and “reckless”.

And now she was refused a place among Bollywood’s 30-minus icons in Karan Johar’s voting-awareness film although everyone from Kareena Kapoor to Ritesh Deshmukh featured in it.

Not that Amrita was brooding over being left out. On Thursday Amrita Rao voted for the first time. So excited was she by the prospect of casting her vote that she reached the polling booth even before the gates had opened.

“At 7 am I was the first voter at the booth in the municipal school in Mahim.I feel so proud of being able to vote for the first time. I keep looking at the black mark on my finger proudly. For years I envied that tell-tale mark on my parents’ finger.”

Amrita’s chosen candidate had to fulfil three prerequisites. “He had to be well-educated, young though not inexperienced, and without a criminal background.”

"When I was 18, my mother gave me a photo of a man and said I'd marry him. I told her then I was never going to have an arranged marriage. No one has ever forced me to do anything against my will, " she said.

Is SRK planning to sell of IPL team?

Shah Rukh Khan is contemplating selling off his Indian Premier League team Knight Riders. This is what a famous business magazine is claiming.

SRK had dropped ‘Kolkata’ from his team’s name just before the IPL season 2 began. According to the magazine’s reports there are speculations that SRK is in talks with three big companies to take over his entire shareholding in the Knight Riders team. These names are said to be – Cell giant Nokia (SRK is their brand ambassador and they are also his team’s sponsors), Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group and Sahara group.

It can be recalled that the King Khan had purchased the Kolkata franchise for a whopping Rs. 300 crore last year. Now if he sells it he can at least make a cool profit of Rs. 100-150 crore.

The magazine further claims that earlier SRK was just interested in selling a part of its stake but all those whom he approached also wanted management control which lead him to the three names mentioned above to sell his entire shareholding.

SRK has been quiet unlucky in the last season as well as the present on going one where his team is dipping right to the bottom of the chart. So may be it is that or may be he has realized owning a cricket team is not as easy as owning a production house.
