May the force be with hairdo... Gail 'I won't wear a wig' Porter dons Princess Leia buns

She has staunchly refused to wear a wig since losing her hair, but even Gail Porter couldn't resist the chance to try out Princess Leia's famous coiffure.

The TV presenter tried on a hairpiece in the style of the princess's legendary buns at a VIP screening of new animated Stars Wars film The Clone Wars in London's Leicester Square.

Giggling Gail, 37, looked delighted as she showed off her new do to photographers.

She was accompanied by her five-year-old daughter Honey, who looked the part in a flowing white Leia costume, complete with lightsaber.

Gail went bald overnight in 2005 from alopecia.

The blow was one of a long string of struggles - including a bout of anorexia in her twenties, a failed marriage to Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave and post-natal depression which culminated in a suicide attempt.

She has since claimed that she would cut off her hair if it grew back again, and has blamed her lack of TV work on her refusal to wear a wig.
