Kate Moss and the case of the detective-style trilby

She may be making millions as a model, but there's another career path Kate Moss could try if the work dries up.

Sitting in the passenger seat of the car, she bore a striking resemblance to a private detective.

With a trilby on her head, cigarette in mouth and phone to her ear, she appeared hard at work on a case.

Kate, who turned 35 two weeks ago, was pictured leaving a friend's house in north London with boyfriend Jamie Hince.

The pair looked relaxed and happy as they strolled along the street arm in arm to the car.

She appeared to be carrying a bag of shopping from sexy lingerie company Agent Provocateur.

Kate buttoned up against the cold in a sturdy tweed jacket that added to her detective chic.

It has a look that seems to be popular with other female stars.

Victoria Beckham stepped out in a long trenchcoat and trilby last year.

And actress Katie Holmes, whose friendship with Victoria appears to be back on track after a rumoured falling out, later wore a similar outfit herself.

She was photographed in a beige belted coat and black cap that could have been inspired by fictional detective Inspector Clouseau.
