Nikita Anand was born in the Punjabi-speaking Anand family in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, in 1983. Her dad is Brigadier S.S. Anand, a doctor in the Indian Army; his frequent transfers led to Nikita studying in different schools. She has a brother named Jasneet, who is three years elder to her.
